First day on a bike.

Friday 31st May 2013.
The sun radiated its heat all day. At lunch I collected my son from his house and also his new Ben 10 bike with stabilisers. We ate hot dogs in my back yard, which is the first time I've sat out or used those garden chairs. Then we agreed to go and get our haircut. He chatted and pulled faces in the chair resulting in hair in his mouth. He had gel in his hair and was loved his fringe spiked a bit.
We jumped in the van and went to Ilkley park which was bustling due to the school holidays. He jumped on his new bike and I taught him how to use his breaks safely on a slight hill path. Then he tried his best to peddle even though his seat was a little low to be fair. The hot sun cooked my skin and so I have prickly heat on my arms which is a yearly occurrence.
I took pictures of my boy with his stabilisers keeping him upright and felt good doing the fatherly thing of teaching him something such as riding a bike ( same with swimming). He saw a girl at this park in February and 'Dad can you teach me how to do that one day' and so I am fulfilling that promise.
After a play in the park itself as well as the obligatory ice cream, we headed
home and started to make our Skull base by painting one side of a box, black.
What followed was a small bit of Netflix and two hours of playing with figures until bedtime rolled in. I was yawning my head off so I went to bed too.
Another lovely day in an ever increasing list of many.
